About Dr. Ghofrany

Board-certified OB/GYN Shieva Ghofrany, MD, FACOG, has been providing the community of Stamford, Connecticut, with top-notch women’s health care for over 14 years. She cherishes long-standing relationships with existing patients while welcoming newcomers at her private practice, Coastal Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Dr. Ghofrany earned her bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University. Then, she completed a pre-medical program at Columbia University before finishing her medical degree at Sackler Faculty of Medicine, Tel Aviv University in Israel. She went on to complete her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Stamford Hospital in Connecticut.

Committed to the endless pursuit of knowledge, Dr. Ghofrany completed training in Integrative Health and Healing at The Graduate Institute in Bethany, Connecticut, in 2016. She incorporates integrative techniques in her practice in order to provide a broader spectrum of patient care.

Dr. Ghofrany has been recognized as one of the Castle Connolly Top Docs and quoted in several publications, including the Huffington Post, and Cosmopolitan and Parents magazines. She’s also been featured in videos on WebMD and the Bump.

As a mother of three, Dr. Ghofrany has personal experience and insight into pregnancy and childbirth. She also has personal experience benefitting from the integrative healing techniques she offers during her treatment as an ovarian cancer patient.

Dr. Ghofrany welcomes women of all ages and backgrounds to her practice. In addition to English, she’s fluent in Farsi and speaks limited Spanish and French.

Shieva has increased her online presence by openly discussing pregnancy, gynecology and mindset issues on IG/FB @biglovefiercejuju and has started a community for women to learn and engage about these subjects called tribecalledv.com
